Seared Swordish with Lemongrass Crust and Thai Peanut Sauce

seared swordfish with lemongrass crust and thai peanut sauce

Even though I can’t get to Hawaii for a vacation this summer I can bring the tastes of the islands to my house.  I had this Seared Swordfish with lemongrass crust and thai peanut sauce when I was at Roy Yamaguchi’s restaurant in Maui.  The food there was delicious.  I still make their Molten Chocolate Cake for dinner parties. Here at Adventures In The Kitchen I usually share simpler recipes but sometimes you want to make a dinner that is a bit more special.  This has many ingredients but you can make the sauce ahead of time and then prepare [...]

Crackling Shrimp with Lime Coconut Noodles

Crackling Shrimp with Lime Coconut Noodles

While reading Too Many Cooks by Emily Franklin I saw the recipe for Crackling Shrimp with Coconut Lime Noodles and craved it immediately.  With the time change and spring teasing us, it seemed like the perfect dish.  Her book is a wonderful account of a year in the life of her family and the food they ate.  She shares  both poignant and funny stories of her family.  I love how she thoughtfully approaches introducing new foods to her children.  She even has flow charts of how to transition from chicken nuggets to Lemon Panko Chicken with children. You don’t have [...]

I like shrimp but not necessarily enough to cook with them often.  This dish changed my opinion.  The sweet and spicy flavors make them addictive.  One is not enough. Summer is right around the corner and time for outdoor entertaining. These could be a main course served with rice and grilled [...]

Asian Salmon

I had my first dinner party in my new place. I had forgotten how much I love to entertain. It is fun to actually have a table where I can have more than one friend over at a time.  It was great to share my new home with my friends, who are always willing taste testers. I selected Asian Salmon, a recipe I had seen by Ina Garten, for my inaugural meal.  I found great salmon at my new favorite story, Fresh and Easy.  Have you discovered it?  My friend called me from there a week ago saying, “this place [...]
